picture of Jan Miserre
Jan Miserre
Jan was born 1981 in Erlangen as the son of a saxophone player and met musicians such as Debussy, Coltrane and the Beatles at an early age. At the age of four he began learning the piano, followed by drums. Already at a young age, Miserre interpreted concerts of new music and improvised as a member of numerous bands.

After completing his jazz piano studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, he traveled to almost every continent as a sideman and musical director of numerous bands. Jan Miserre also worked on the composition and production of cross-genre projects. In 2013 he was awarded the GEMA Music Authors' Prize together with Torsten Goods in the "New Talent" category and received a prize in the Instant Composing Contest a the Transatlantic Film Festival.
