Ben Waters
Ben (* 1976) is a Boogie, Blues and Jazz pianist. He is regarded as one of the best Rock'n'Roll and Boogie Woogie pianists in the world. He has played with Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Shakin' Stevens, Ray Davies and Jools Holland.
He has his own band, a trio consisting of Ben himself (piano, vocals), Richard Hymas (electric bass, vocals) and Ady Milward (drums, vocals), sometimes supplemented by saxophonists, brass and other guest musicians. In 2009 he formed the band The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie with pianist Axel Zwingenberger, Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts and double bass player Dave Green. The four musicians have since gone on several tours in Europe. In 2011, Ben released the album Boogie 4 Stu - A Tribute to Ian Stewart, with which he paid tribute to one of his role models, the pianist Ian Stewart. The album featured, among others, Charlie Watts, Dave Green, Jools Holland, PJ Harvey, Bill Wyman, Ron Wood, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. Watching the river flow is the first re-recording to feature the band members since Bill Wyman left the Rolling Stones. from Wikipedia |
