Fabio Gorlier
Fabio (*1981) is a pianist and composer known for his versatile work across classical music, contemporary styles, and especially jazz. He studied piano at the Conservatorio "G. Verdi" in Turino and continued his musical education with further studies in Alba and Alessandria. Alongside his instrumental training, he pursued academic studies in the arts and music, earning degrees in Music, Arts and Performance Studies and in Music History from the Università degli Studi di Torino, with an additional period of study in Musicology at the Université François-Rabelais in Tours in France.
Gorlier developed his jazz language through courses at the Centro Jazz Torino and by attending masterclasses and seminars such as Siena Jazz, Nuoro Jazz, and Arquato Jazz, working with major Italian jazz figures including Enrico Rava and Paolo Fresu. As a performer, he has appeared at numerous festivals — including the Torino Jazz Festival, Time in Jazz, MiTo, and Dolomiti Ski Jazz — and has performed in prominent theaters such as Teatro La Fenice in Venezia and the Agnelli Auditorium in Turino. His concert activity has taken him throughout Europe, as well as to South America, the Middle East, and China. Gorlier has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, from well-known jazz artists like Billy Cobham, Andy Sheppard, and Furio Di Castri to classical performers such as baritone Lucio Gallo. He leads his own projects, including the trio album Woody'n'Us, and is active as a composer and arranger. In addition to his performing career, Gorlier teaches at the Fondazione Fossano Musica, where he leads jazz ensemble activities and continues to contribute to the Italian jazz community through concerts, collaborations, and educational work. created by ChatGPT |
