Hans Jansen
Hans is a keyboard player, who has become well known with Ekseption. Before that,
however, he had already played with a large number of bands: In the first half of
the sixties, Hans started his career with the Blue Stars. Following are Marks (1965),
Holland Quintet, Jay-Jays (1967), The Haigs (1968), and Swinging Soul Machine (1969-1970).
In 1971 Hans recorded his solo album "Swinging Hammond". In the same year he was involved in the founding of the North Holland pop group Think Tank. He worked there with guitarist Aad van de Kreeft, bassist Jacques Zwart and drummer Rob de Graaf. In 1972 the guitarist of De Kreeft was replaced by Bert Devies, but Think Tank split up shortly afterwards. From 1973 till 1975, Hans was a member of Ekseption. Then Hans played with the successor of Ekseption, the jazz rock group Spin. Hans also made solo work, but after his Ekseption period he can still be heard most as a studio musician on a large number of albums by colleagues. |
