Terje Rypdal
Terje (* 1947) studied piano and composition, and taught himself to play guitar.
He played in the George Russel sextet, worked with Jan Garbarek, and, 1972,
founded his own group Odyssee with which he toured to the UK and USA.
In the 80's, Terje had several trios; they gave concerts all over Europe.
Rypdal, as one of the most important electric guitar players in Europe, is not the typical organ player, but uses this instrument as additional possibility to present his musical ideas. |
