Don Cherry
Don Cherry (1936-1995), known as an excellent cornetist, worked
first with Ornette Coleman. He cooperated also with Steve Lacy,
Archie Shepp, Albert Ayler and John Tchicai.
In the early 80's, he founded, together with Collin Walcott and Nana Vasconcelos, the group CODONA. Cherry toured mainly through Europe, most of his recordings were made in Germany. His activities at the organ were an exception, but worth being mentioned. |
