Richard Turner jr.
Richard, a.k.a. "88 Fingers", is a pianist, producer, songwriter, and performer. He began performing at the young age of 10, with his first recording being at the age of 13 with his father Richard Turner sr. who worked at Capitol Records for many years. He has developed an extensive and varied musical repertoire that includes jazz, gospel, stage plays, and hip-hop.

Richard earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from California State University Dominguez Hills. Industry insiders frequently comment that Richard overwhelms the piano and organ. He is also quite skilled on the bass guitar and woodwinds alike. His moniker, 88 Fingers, was given to him by his peers because of his exciting atmosphere of playing all 88 keys on the piano at every performance!

Richard's unique versatility has been experienced in live performances with numerous industry giants throughout his career, including the late James Ingram, Teena Marie, and Vesta Williams. Additionally, he has also worked with Patti Austin, Paul Jackson jr., Karen Briggs, Billy Davis jr. and Marilyn McCoo, Beau Williams and the late Thomas Whitfield. The icing on the cake is Richard worked as Musical Director for smooth jazz sensation, saxophonist Eric Darius for eighteen years.

His R&B and Jazz career is not the summation of his talents. Richard also currently serves as Minister of Music at Full Gospel Baptist Church in Los Angeles and Westminster Presbyterian Church. In the 1990's, he served as Musical Director for the gospel musical "High Life" and currently provides consultation for various southern California churches.

Teaching at both The Pasadena Music and Compton Music Conservatories, Richard was also a representative of MIDISOFT. In 2023, he founded Richard Turner Jr. Musical Gifts, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to assisting aspiring musicians obtain longevity in the music industry. All of this was a result of his pressing desire to educate musicians through the teaching and the performance of music and related performing arts.
