Lloyd C. Wilson
Lloyd is a jazz pianist, Hammond B-3 organist, composer, and arranger, known for blending Caribbean musical traditions with jazz, soul, and contemporary styles. Raised in Barbados in a culturally rich environment shaped by Salvation Army bands, steel pan music, and church traditions, he began performing at a young age. His early career included playing with local groups such as The Troubadours and The Fantastics, where he developed a strong foundation in live performance and studio work.

Wilson became a sought-after keyboardist in Barbados' hotel and club circuit and worked as a studio musician for WIRL, contributing to recordings for well-known Caribbean artists including Fern Trail, Jackie Opel, and The Merrymen. His tours across the Caribbean further expanded his musical range and visibility.

In 1974, he moved to the United States to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA/USA, focusing on piano, orchestration, and composition. During his time in Boston, he performed regularly in jazz clubs such as the historic Wally's Jazz Café, refining his sound as a jazz organist and pianist.

After completing his studies, Wilson settled in Chicago, IL/USA, where he established a long and successful career as a performer and arranger. He became widely recognized for his residency at Gibson's Restaurant & Steakhouse and collaborated with numerous jazz and soul artists. His notable work with vocalist Arthur Prysock includes arranging and performing on multiple recordings.

Lloyd 's discography features his own album Slammin' as well as contributions to projects like Black Coffee with Pippi Ardennia and the orchestral production When I Have Sung My Song To You. His music is distinguished by its expressive phrasing, rich harmonic sense, and the seamless integration of jazz, soul, and Caribbean influences.

Today, Lloyd continues to be celebrated as a versatile Barbadian jazz pianist and Chicago-based Hammond organist, bringing decades of experience and a unique artistic voice to every performance.
