Jean-Baptiste Boclé
Jean-Baptiste (JB) is a vibraphonist and organist. During his career he starred alongside Chick Corea, Makoto Ozone, Curtis Fuller, David Liebman, Kenny Barron, Tommy Smith, Marc Ducret, Mick Goodrick, Phil Wilson and Danilo Perez. He plays the Hammond organ and accompanied the Gipsy Kings on their tour for 2 years.
He learned his craft at the Conservatoire in Rennes. He then attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and became a student of vibraphonist Gary Burton. He won the "Gary Burton Jazz Master Award" two years in a row.
JB also composes music for multimedia (video, film, television), dance and trailers for symphony orchestras.
JB and his brother Gildas are leaders of the group Keltic Tales, which they founded in 1991. Their musical creations combine traditional sounds (Celtic with uilleann pipes, jazz) with contemporary music. They released several albums under the name Boclé Brothers.
