Johannes Gebhardt
Born 1969 in Halle/Germany, Johannes was fortunate to grow up in the musical environment of a pastor's family. At the age of 17, he commenced his organ and piano studies at the Hochschule für Musik "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig. After graduation, 1991 in sacred music and 1993 in organ, Johannes worked as a church musician in Leipzig and taught at the institutes of Sacred Music in Dresden and Leipzig. Since 2010, he furthermore studied organ improvisation at the Universität der Künste Berlin with Wolfgang Seifen.

In 1996, Johannes received the special prize at the Leipzig Bach Competition, and in 2001, the special prize at the competition Jazz and Church Organ in Hannover. Since 2002, he works as lecturer at the Institut für Kirchenmusik of the Universität Greifswald.

Alongside his teaching activities, he composes and gives concerts with a variety of ensembles. Several CD recordings were made by German radio stations.
