Martin Sasse
Martin Sasse (* 1968 in Hamm/Germany) studied classical piano at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen/Germany and jazz piano at the Musikhochschule in Köln where he passed his exam with distinction. 1988 through 1990, Martin played with the Landes-Jugendjazzorchester NRW (regional youth jazz orchestre), 1990 through 1993 with the Bundesjazzorchester leaded by Peter Herbolzheimer.
 
Since longtime, Martin works as a lecturer for jazz education, he teaches mainly jazz piano and combo. 1992, he started at the Offene Jazzhaus Schule Köln. In 1998, he changed to the University of Mainz, and in 2008, the music college Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf signed him.
 
Martin also works as a jazz pianist performing and touring with well known artists such as Al Foster, Jimmy Cobb, Steve Grossman, Hiram Bullock, Peter Bernstein, Vincent Herring, Till Brönner, Tommy Emmanuel, Dick Oatts, Dennis Mackrel, Toots Thielemanns, Charlie Mariano, Philip Catherine, Nils Landgren, Lee Konitz, Janis Siegel, Tony Lakatos, and many more.
 
Besides his love for the piano, Martin also discovered his interest in the organ. After having recorded more than 20 albums as a pianist, his CD "Into The Blue" is his first organ production.
