Franco Angelozzi
Franco, a.k.a. Frank Hammond, founder of the band Frank Hammond Quartet, has
collaborated and performed with great names in soul and blues over the years,
such as guitarist James Wheeler, singer Nellie "Tiger" Travis, the Memphis
Horns, bluesman Eric "Guitar" Davis, Les Getrex, singer Diane Blue, and many others.
He has performed at several editions of the Porretta Soul Festival, the Wine & Blues Festival in Sicily, the Aventino Blues, Campli Blues, San Severino Blues, Trasimeno Blues Festival, and many other Italian festivals. In 2000, he was recognized by the music press for bringing the Hammond organ back into fashion. Franco is a historic figure in the Italian soul revival, which he helped pioneer by founding one of its key groups, Body and Soul, together with singer and drummer Claudio Di Nicola. |
