Manrico Seghi
Manrico was born in Fucecchio (Italy) in 1980; he begun studying classical piano, and later got involved in jazz, mastering its language on his instrument. In 2005, thanks to some Jimmy Smith’s recordings, he devoted himself to Hammond Organ, attending several masterclasses with well known Hammond players from all over the world, and getting the chance to be appreciated, among others, by the greatest of them, Joey deFrancesco. His style features a solid walking bass and a groovy phrasing, deep-rooted into jazz and blues tradition, along with captivating bebop runs. Manrico had the chance to play with many worldwide acclaimed jazz musicians like Scott Hamilton, Rachel Gould, Sheila Jordan, etc. He is now considered one of the best Hammond players in Italy.
