Joe Kurasz
Joe started playing at a very young age and was influenced by a diverse group of artists such as Booker T., Jimmy Smith, John Coltrane, the Temptations, Burt Bacharach, artists from extremely different music genres, yet they performed and composed music that was very soulful and inspirational to Joe. His private study with composer/arranger Joe Zeoli and Professor Bruce Dane gave Joe the necessary tools to combine mathematical logic with creative inspiration.

Joe's activities as a composer are wide spread. He created songs (like "Jus A Simple Song", #1 in Billboard Magazine's Songwriting Competition, or "Intergeneration" performed by the New Jersey ntergenerational Orchestra at Lincoln Center), and composed and scored the original soundtrack for the independent film "The Followers". He has been involved in TV shows ("The Bravest", "B. Smith With Style").

In "SOUL SEARCHING", a 2004 CD release, Joe focuses on the Hammond B-3 organ as a lead instrument in mainstream Smooth Jazz. Joe has always had a special connection with this instrument and spent countless hours practicing on it, experimenting with the variety of sound and exploring the unlimited range of expressive possibilities. According to Joe, "Soul is something you can't hold, but you know it when you feel it, especially in a song."
