Richie Varola
Richie (* 1943 in Butler, PA) was a piano and organ player. Influenced by Jimmy Smith, his gigging efforts led to his adoption by the orchestra of Louis Prima. His only release was his debut album on the Verve label in 1967. He played pop standards in Prima's live band sets until his untimely death in a car crash in April 1974, aged 30.
