Volker Kunschner
Early age six only, Volker had his first live performance in 1956. From the very beginning, music lied in his mind. As a teenager, he founded his first soul bands, and he continued with such bands in the 70's, the last of them was called "Joker". Joker had its first LP of its own, and toured through the former GDR.

1982, Volker worked together with among others Doctor Feelgood and Curtis Blow. Later, he again had soul bands and worked even in a Reggae band.
As freelancer, Volker founded his own studio and was now able to start his own projects. He did recordings and compositions with and for Stevie Woods (Starlight Express). An important part of his work was dedicated to composing (movie clips, promotional clips etc.).

1997, Volker tended more and more to the jazz. He began a cooperation with Ricky Peterson, Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley. In the same year, he started a tour together with Lou Donaldson and Dr. Lonnie Smith.

On the CD "Snooze", Kunschner was featured together with Charlie Mariano and Rainer Brüninghaus. 2001, he toured again with Ricky Peterson and Bill Evans.

In November 2018, Volker passed away.
