Nate Basinger
Originally from Iowa, Nate plays the Hammond organ, piano and accordion around Austin - and beyond. When he's not teaching piano or accordion lessons, you can find Nate behind the organ somewhere on South Congress with The Lost Counts or several other roots bands. Nate studied music and ethnomusicology at the University of Iowa, splitting his time between researching world accordion music and jazz studies. He also gives lessons on the ukulele.
After college Nate played keyboards and accordion with midwestern folk, blues and soul groups including Diplomats of Solid Sound, Andre Williams, Bo Ramsey, Iris Dement and Pieta Brown. He also worked as a staff accompanist for the University of Iowa Department of Dance for 10 years. Nate's music has been used in many TV programs and movies including History Detectives, Weeds, Entourage and ESPN's 30 for 30 original movie series. Specializing in jazz, rock, folk and blues, Nate is excited to help you reach your goals on piano, accordion, Hammond organ, harmonica or ukulele. from Austin School of Music |
