picture of Doug Carn
Doug Carn
Doug (*1948) started his musical career at the age of five, when he studied the piano. Doug's mother was occasionally a church organist, and thus had a wide influence on his son. Later, at the college, Doug had an encounter with Aaron Copland, and the college's band and chorus played his stuff.

Doug's favourite musicians has been John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Charles Ives, Eric Satie and Mccoy Tyner. He worked with Nat Adderley, Earth, Wind & Fire, Shirley Horn, Lou Donaldson, Stanley Turrentine, and Irene Reid. In 2010, he was featured on Cindy Blackman's album Another Lifetime.
