TC belongs to the Austrian jazz scene, and is its only jazz organist with an international reputation.
His importance for the organ scene is well pointed out by some exciting organ albums, which show him
with great musicians as Red Holloway, Herb Ellis and Bill Elgart. TC prefers trios with guitar and drums,
sometimes with sax. He connects all different styles, on the one hand to make sure of the tradition of jazz
and blues as played on the Hammond organ, and on the other hand to be open for all kind of modern styles.
His reputation was much improved by the cooperation with Wild Bill Davis. Both musicians gave impulses to each other. Besides Jimmy McGriff and Richard Groove Holmes, this pair was one of the rare cases to release an album with "double B3" (70th anniversary of Wild Bill Davis) - superb! |
